Hello! I am a stay-at-home mom, website editor, forum host,
and student at the University of Arizona. I am pursuing a
degree in creative writing with a minor in biology. At the
rate I am going, I will graduate when I am 104 years old!
I am not a health care professional and I don't give medical
advice.
I am an "average Jane" who is sharing her experience of being
a diabetic mommy, dealing with hospitals and health care professionals,
and feeling out of place in nondiabetic pregnancy groups.
I spent the seemingly endless months of my pregnancy researching,
finding resources, interviewing my healthcare team, educating
myself, and talking to other pregnant diabetics.
My efforts were rewarded when my beautiful healthy baby boy
was born. One look at his little adorable face, and I knew
all the effort was well worth it. Following his birth, I still
found my diabetes was a force to be reckoned with and being
a mom seemed to make it harder.
This site is not only aimed at currently pregnant diabetics,
but also women trying to conceive, breastfeeders and beyond.
I hope other visitors to this site who already have been through
a diabetic pregnancy will share their experiences and support
our newbie visitors.
If you really enjoy this site, please consider supporting
it with a gift.
Enjoy
Bjay, "Diabetic Mommy"
